Genesis Lutheran Church of Buchanan Dam, Texas, celebrated its 30th Anniversary on October 13, 2024, with a day of worship, songs, delicious food, lots of games, silent auction and Christian fellowship.

The first service was held on September 18, 1994. The name Genesis Lutheran Church was chosen since it was a new beginning in the Hill Country and the first book of the Bible. In 1997 a building was purchased and 90% of the renovations were completed by the members.

We have had dedicated Pastors to lead us including Rev. Eldor Mickan, Rev. Ken Baisden, Rev. Brian Bibler and our current Pastor, Rev. Trey Rienstra.

In the setting of the beautiful Hill Country, we have the blessing of members from all over and each bringing their own special talents. Some of our many activities include VBS, Piecemakers, Bible Study, recognition of our military/first responders/police and Orphan Grain Train to name a few.

It was with much joy and gratitude that Genesis Lutheran Church had the opportunity to celebrate 30 years of worship and ask God to grant us many more years to hear and learn His word.
